'They Said To Commit Suicide': Navdeep Singh On His Past Struggle And Source Of Motivation

Paralympic Gold medalist Javelin thrower Navdeep Singh talked about his past and how depressing it was for him to live in such a state. The Paralympic athlete who was cursed with dwarfism from an early age started his journey from scratch. Navdeep revealed how people from his society used to taunt him to commit suicide and how he dealt with it. Navdeep Singh created history by claiming Gold in the Paris Paralympics in the F41 category with an incredible throw of 47.32 meters. The 4.6-foot 23-year-old was asked what keeps him motivated, then he said that he used to take all the negative things about him as a source of motivation and used it to fuel his performance.

What Navdeep Says About His Struggles
“Aapko kya lagta hai hume hausla kaha se aata hai? Jab wo bolte hain ki tu kuch nahi kar sakta. Isse acha to tu suicide kar le. Ye kya jeevan hai tera [Where do you think we get our courage from? When they say you can't do anything. It's better if you just commit suicide. What kind of life is this for you?], said Navdeep to Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube Channel.
Navdeep also told Shubhankar that how his father has been by his side ever since he started his Journey and how he supported him emotionally so that today he was able to claim Gold for the nation.

“Shuruwat unhone karwai thi. Har jagah saath they [He was the one who got me started. He was with me every step of the way” said Navdeep .
Navdeep Singh's Comparisons With Virat Kohli
In a recent video that is going viral where the Javelin thrower was seen performing fiercely and aggressively. Navdeep is being compared with Former Indian Skipper Virat Kohli but in the interview, he said that the current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is his favourite. Navdeep Singh in his recent victory in the Paris Paralympics threw 47.32 meters and surpassed the previous record held by China's Pengxiang Sun in Tokyo 2021.
