'Couldn't Match His Perfection': Sarabjot Singh Expresses His Fandom for Turkish Shooter Yusuf Dikec

Sarabjot Singh and Manu Bhaker's historic performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics has earned them a lot of praise. The duo finished third at the Mixed 10m Air Pistol event and they bagged the bronze medal. Sarabjot had sealed the deal for India in the bronze medal match as they defeated the Korean Pair by a score of 16 to 10. Sarabjot recently revealed his fanfare for viral Turkish Shooter Yusuf Dikec. He also revealed how he tried to imitate the sensational marksman for over a decade.

Sarabjot Singh Reveals on Trying to Imitate Turkey's Yusuf Dikec's Perfection for Over a Decade

Sarabjot Singh becomes a fanboy when speaking to PUMA India about Yusuf Dikec. Singh revealed that he has been following the Turkish Shooter's videos for over a decade, but he could not reach his level of perfection.

"I have been watching his (Yusuf's) videos since 2011. He has always been like this. He is 51 today. Even though I have tried, I could not match his perfection. If I had the chance, I would ask him what he eats?," said Sarabjot Singh

The Turkish shooter was one of the viral sensations throughout the Paris Olympics as his calm and composed attitude was something that attracted the social media fandom. He won the silver medal without using any specialized shooting equipment and just had some regular earplugs while competing for the gold. Dikec won the silver medal at the Mixed 50m Air Pistol Event, but the fanfare he gained globally was off the hook.

Sarabjot Singh partnered with Manu Bhaker to win India's first-ever Olympic medal in a mixed shooting event. Bhaker and Sarabjot scripted history with a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team shooting event at the Paris Olympics. He also revealed that despite not having much training together, they aimed to deliver their best and eventually finished at the podium.

Sarabjot's focus is now locked in at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, and he intends to change the colour of his bronze medal.
