The bronze medal winning squad from the Tokyo Olympics, squad India, is trying to improve their chances of winning a medal as they want to win the gold in Paris in a photo finish this time. Despite a few mishaps and disruptive officiating, Team India has been utterly dominant and the Men in Blue have maintained their composure. The Veteran Hockey India goalie's final season before he ends his illustrious career is upon them, and the Harmanpreet Singh-led team is determined to earn the top podium slot. The absence of Amit Rohidas, their star defensive player, would make the Indian team's semifinal matchup extremely difficult. A former Indian hockey player drew attention to how hastily the choice was made by the FIH.

Ex-India Hockey Player Feels the Federation’s Ruling Over Amit Rohidas Was ‘Extreme’
Former India Hockey star Dhananjay Mahadik pointed out that the decision to bench Amit Rohidas from the semifinal was an extreme step by the federation, arguing that the Indian hockey star meant no harm towards his opponent.
"This is not a local match, rather an Olympics match. There is a 360-degree view camera here. No player has ever played like this, rather it was just a biological, natural action on the part of Amit. He did not mean to harm his opponent. This is an extreme decision taken by the third umpire," Dhananjay Mahadik said as per ANI.

India suffered a setback as defender Amit Rohidas was given a one-match ban due to a red card after he unintentionally hit Britain's Will Calnan. He won't participate in India's semifinal match as a result. Rohidas is a top defender for the team, so the Harmanpreet-led team may be in serious difficulty.
In an attempt to go to the summit match and alter the colour of the medal they won in the previous Summer Olympics, Team India will take on Germany in the semifinal at the Yves-du-Manoir Stadium.
