'India Should Try for 2036 Olympics': Polish Kabaddi President Backs India's Olympic Hosting Dream

Former PKL star and Kabaddi Poland President Michal Spickzo stated that he supported India's bid to host the 2036 Summer Olympics in the country.

Kabaddi is not just limited to Asia as the sport has gained international recognition for quite some time. In India, the Pro Kabaddi league has helped gain interest among Indian sports fans. Recently, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, visited Poland as part of his visit to Europe. PM Modi met the President of the Kabaddi Federation of Poland. They shared a hearty moment together as they talked about the game's influence in the European region. President Spiczko also backed India's aim to host the 2036 Olympics in the country.

Kabaddi Poland President backs India's endeavors of hosting the 2036 Olympics

President Michal Spickzo expressed optimism after his meeting with Indian PM Narendra Modi during his Warsaw visit. He expressed that sports could thrive if a person like Narendra Modi is in such a position. Spickzo backed India's dream to host the 2036 Olympics and also wants Kabaddi to be a part of the Olympics Games in the future.

"I felt a huge positive energy from him. He was very proud that he was the person who was responsible for building the stadium in Ahmedabad because he's from Gujarat and in this stadium, I played during the World Cup in 2016 in Ahmedabad. I think having a person like Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this position, I think, is a great opportunity to make India stronger in every sport. India should try for the Olympic Games in 2036 and I hope that Kabaddi will be in this Olympics," President Spiczko said after meeting PM Narendra Modi during the latter's visit to Warsaw.

Poland Kabaddi Federation President is renowned in India as he had spent the 2015 and 2016 seasons as a part of the Pro Kabaddi League franchise Bengaluru Bulls and was the first European kabaddi star to feature in the tournament. Spiczko was also a part of Team Poland during the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup in Ahmedabad. He is now nurturing the sport in the European region, which is rapidly gaining popularity among the masses.
