Indian Contingent: 68 Coaches and 50 Officials to Support Indian Athletes at Paris Olympics 2024

PT Usha praises the teamwork in getting the Indian contingent to the Olympics in Paris 2024. Thanking the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports as well as the national sports federations for their efficient cooperation, PT Usha said She underlined that this kind of cooperation has greatly helped the Indian Olympic Committee get ready for the next Paris Olympics. The IOA President also answered and denied claims of inaccurate reporting about their organisation. She said,

“Together with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and its units, the National Sports Federations and a good bunch of corporate partners, IOA had forged unprecedented teamwork. It is shocking that some have turned a blind eye to such synergy.”

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has announced the list of athletes representing India in the Paris 2024 Olympics. The delegation will comprise 117 athletes, accompanied by 68 coaches and 50 support staff members.

PT Usha has responded to concerns about wrestler Amit Panghal and his support personnel encountering visa problems for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Panghal's instructor, Bhagat Singh, physiotherapist Heera, sparring partner Vikas, and masseuse Nisha are still awaiting the issuance of their visas.

Nevertheless, there is optimism for finding a solution since PT Usha has diligently examined the issue. Panghal's father has contacted the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) over the problem, as she observed. Usha intends to elevate the matter to the French embassy in order to secure the required visas. She said: 

“I will continue to strive to put my best foot forward when it comes to ensuring the best possible support for each and every athlete in our contingent.”

The Paris Olympics will start on July 26, 2024, and the Indian contingent is anticipated to have a great performance this summer.
