India’s Day 11 in Paris Olympics: Neeraj, Jena Kick Off Campaign as Hockey Team Aims for Final Spot

Some Big action is all set to take place today. One of India's prime hopes for a gold medal, Neeraj Chopra, will be in action today. The Indian javelin ace will be defending his gold medal against some of the premier track and field athletes across the globe, and he will have the pressure on his shoulders. Apart from Neeraj, rising star Kishore Kumar Jena will also be in action for the qualification event same as Chopra. Day 10 was a disappointing one for India, but it could change on Day 11. Before the action begins in the French Capital, let's take a look at a thorough preview of today's action.

India’s Day 11 at Paris Olympics: Jena, Neeraj to Open Campaign While Hockey India Aim for Summit Clash

India's Javelin stars, Neeraj Chopra and Kishore Kumar Jena, will begin their campaign on Day 11 of the Summer Olympics at the French Capital. Both the track and field athletes will be a part of the Men's Javelin Throw Qualification Rounds, but they will feature in different groups. Vinesh Phogat will also be in action in the Women’s Freestyle 50 KG Round of 16 match-up.

The Indian hockey team, captained by Harmanpreet Singh, will be the principal attraction of the evening. They have a goal of winning the semi-final against Germany late in the day in order to secure a medal and also get a spot in the finals. The team has a chance to deliver the ultimate send-off to the veteran goalkeeper PR Sreejesh, who is competing in his final tournament as he will retire after the 2024 Paris Olympics.
