Team India's Day Four in the Paris Olympics could be nothing less than historic. Shooter Manu Bhaker has a chance to make history after she put herself in contention for a second medal, a bronze. Bhaker has already made history after securing a medal in the Women's 10m Air Pistol. Let's take a look at a thorough preview for today and which sport will be in the spotlight.
Day 4 at Paris Olympics: Manu Bhaker in the limelight as shooters and boxers to feature today
With her bronze in the 10m air pistol individual competition, she is now the first Indian woman shooter to earn an Olympic medal. But her continued hunt for glory continues as Bhaker, teaming up with Sarabjot Singh, will aim to win the bronze medal. With a combined score of 580, Bhaker and Sarabjot qualified for the mixed team air pistol event's third-place finish. Boxers and Archers will also be in action as Preeti Pawar will be in action at the Women's 54kg Round of 16 clash, while Jaismine Lamboria will compete in the women's 57kg Round of 32. In the Men's 51kg category, Amit Panghal will compete in the Round of 32.
Archers Ankita Bhakat and Bhajan Kaur will compete in the Women's recurve Individuals Round of 32 and have the chance to advance further, given they qualify. In the trap competition, shotgun marksman Prithviraj Tondaiman finished last and in 30th place after three rounds of 25 points each and had a score of 68/75. Tondaiman still has a chance, as he will now compete in the shooting men's trap event qualifiers. Shreyasi Singh and Rajeshwari Kumari are joining forces for the women's trap event qualifiers. Balraj Panwar will compete in the men's single sculls rowing competition in the quarterfinals. The Indian hockey team, who were limited to a 1-1 draw by Argentina, will play Ireland in their next group match.
