Paris Olympics 2024: Here's the winner of the First Gold Medal of the 2024 Summer Games

Kazakhstan's Alexandra Le and Islam Satpayev claimed the bronze medal in the inaugural 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event at the Paris 2024 Olympics, defeating Germany's Anna Janssen and Maximilian Ulbrich with a decisive score of 17-5. This victory marked the first medal of the Paris Games. 

Meanwhile, China won the first gold medal of the Paris Olympics, but its athletes were nowhere near Paris. The Olympic shooting range, a three-hour drive from Paris in the city of Chateauroux, was the venue for Huang Yuting and Sheng Lihao to shoot for gold in the 10-meter air rifle mixed team event held Saturday morning. China also won the event three years ago in Tokyo, when Yang Qian and Yang Haoran took the gold medal as team air rifle shooting made its debut on the Olympic program.

Kazakhstan win inaugural medal of the Paris 2024 Olympics

Kazakhstan achieved its inaugural medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Saturday by triumphing against Germany with a score of 17-5 in the bronze-medal match of the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event held at Chateauroux.

Kazakh marksmen Alexandra Le and Islam Satpayev gained an initial advantage by triumphing in the opening round with a score of 21.4-20.7. Despite Anna Janssen and Maximilian Ulbrich of Germany successfully achieving a tie at 3-3 and 4-4, they were unable to gain a lead at any point throughout the game.

Le and Satpayev thereafter exerted control over the following three rounds, resulting in a score of 10-4. Germany briefly achieved a draw in the subsequent round, but the Kazakhs finally sailed smoothly to a resounding victory.

Kazakhstan achieved a third-place result in the qualification round, while Germany secured fourth place.
