Manu Bhaker Creates History in Paris! Manu Becomes First Indian to Win 2 Medals in A Single Olympics

After becoming the first Indian woman shooter to claim an Olympic medal, Manu Bhaker became the first Indian in history to win two medals at the same Olympics.

Indian athletes have started to make their presence feel in shooting competitions at the Paris Olympics. After getting the nation its first medal in the Paris Olympics in Women's 10m Air Pistol, Manu Bhaker won another medal for India on Tuesday. Manu Bhaker became the first Indian athlete to win a medal in the Paris Olympics on Saturday and now she broke another Indian Olympic record. 

After becoming the first Indian woman shooter to claim an Olympic medal, Manu Bhaker completed her quest to become the first Indian in history to win two medals at the same Olympics. No Indian athlete has ever managed to achieve the feat and 22-year-old Bhaker made history on Tuesday.

As the nation aims to surpass its previous record of 7 medals from the Tokyo Olympics, the 22-year-old shooter made a big effort on Tuesday to make it a reality when she competed in the 10m Mixed Team Air Rifle competition with Sarabjot Singh. Bhaker and Sarabjot on Tuesday showed exceptional skill and composure throughout the competition to win a bronze in the 10m Mixed Team Air Rifle.

India defeated the mighty South Korea 16-10 in the bronze medal match to bring glory to their nation.

 

Manu Bhaker continues to shine at the Paris Olympics

In the Women's 10m Air Pistol, Manu was only 0.1 points behind the shooter who won the silver medal in the event on Sunday. The victory opened the Indian medal tally at the Paris Olympics as the athletes are now looking forward to claiming more medals and converting the single-digit Tokyo medal haul into double digits.

She now has a chance to win another medal at the Paris Games when she takes part in the 25m Air Pistol event on 2nd August.
