Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh have qualified for the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team bronze medal game in the Paris Olympics. With this noteworthy success, India's medal count has a major chance to increase as they get one step closer to a podium finish. The match is reported to take place on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Bhaker and Sarabjot shot 580 to make the medal round where they will take on Korea on Tuesday.
Manu Bhaker has already created history at the Paris Olympics. She earned a bronze medal in the Women's 10m Air Pistol event. This is India's first medal at the Paris Olympics. She finished second in series one but dropped to third in series two. She recovered quickly and remained in second position with 131 points after 13 strokes. Following that, her position fluctuated between second and third, and she eventually finished third, winning the Bronze Medal for India. She is only the second Indian to earn a medal in pistol shooting, following Vijay Kumar, who won silver in London 2012.
As Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh have advanced to the bronze medal match in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event. If Manu emerges victorious, she would achieve the distinction of becoming the first Indian in the history of Independent India to capture multiple medals at a single Olympic edition. Additionally, she will be competing in the 25m Pistol event scheduled for August 2nd.
