Paris Olympics 2024: India have finally broken the jinx of number four by winning their fourth medal in the ongoing Olympics. After their heartbreak against Germany in the semis which left them bereft of a gold and silver, India have now beaten Spain to clinch the bronze medal. The Indian team won the bronze in Tokyo in 2021 and have now successfully defended it. This was also Indian goalkeeper PR Sreejesh's last hockey match for India.

Hockey is truly an emotion and India's emphatic victory over Spain is a testament to it. India captain Harmanpreet Singh led the team from the front and scored two goals against Spain. The Spanish team had multiple penalty corners but they failed to convert them. India's goalkeeper PR Sreejesh in particular saved a goal with 1.13 minutes left in the final quarter.

When India were taking on Spain in their gold medal round match, Neeraj Chopra's family members and friends were watching the entire match on the big screen. They erupted in joy as India created history in Paris and clinched the bronze medal.
