Paris Olympics 2024: A bittersweet ending to Neeraj Chopra's campaign in the ongoing Paris Olympics. India's golden boy clinched the silver in Paris and certainly looked far from his best. But only an athlete like Neeraj can clinch the Olympic silver courtesy of just one legal throw. Yes, that is right, out of all the six attempts, Neeraj had just one legal throw and it was pretty good enough to win the silver for him.

Neeraj Chopra's Father Rules Out Injury Issues

India expected a medal out of Neeraj and he has delivered but the colour of the medal is certainly different. The entire nation wished that Neeraj repeats his heroics of Tokyo Olympics, but it just wasn't his day. The Indian javelin thrower looked under a lot of pressure and fouled in five out of his six throws. Soon after Chopra clinched the gold, his father expressed his opinion on the star athlete's performance.

'We can't say that it was pressure, everybody has his / her day on the field. A total of twelve countries were fighting for the coveted gold medal. Neeraj won two consecutive medals in Olympics, it is a very happy moment for us. It is a really good thing that we are giving a strong fight to the athletes of the other nations. All the athletes prepare well for the Olympics, I don't think there was any pressure on him. What I feel is that it was his groin injury that was bothering him, said Neeraj Chopra's father
