'Namaskaar': Neeraj Chopra Shares First Message After Reaching Paris Olympic Games Village

Neeraj Chopra will look to defend his gold in the ongoing Paris Games. Chopra is also the captain of India's Athletics team

Paris Olympics 2024: India have secured two medals so far in the ongoing 33rd Summer Games. With over 10,000 athletes participating, the entire world's eyes are fixated on the Paris Games. India have sent a strong contingent comprising of 117 athletes and they are constantly battling it out to better their Tokyo Olympics performance. Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh have contributed two medals to India's tally so far and there is still a lot to play for.

Neeraj Chopra Reaches Paris

India's golden boy Neeraj Chopra is the brightest medal hope for the country. India won 7 medals in the Tokyo Olympics which includes a gold medal that Neeraj won in the men's javelin throw event. Chopra who is expected to win a medal for India is also the captain of India's archery team. This is Neeraj's second Olympics and he will certainly look to clinch the gold medal once again and cement his legacy on the grandest stage of them all.

Neeraj has now reached Paris and has shared a special message from the Athletes Village. 'Namaskaar Paris, Excited to finally reach the Olympic Games village. #Paris2024', Chopra wrote on his social media accounts.

Chopra is only the second individual gold medal winner for India in the Olympics after Abhinav Bindra (10m air rifle at the 2008 Beijing Games). In many ways, Chopra can also be considered as one of the biggest non-cricketing sporting celebrity in the Indian subcontinent.

Neeraj Chopra's Ruthless Domination

India is slowly and steadily gunning towards being a sporting nation and athletes like Neeraj are the ones who define the sports culture of India. Rarely does a clutch player like Neeraj comes by and fulfills his / her potential. Since his heroics in the Tokyo Olympics, Indian Athletics Team captain Neeraj Chopra has participated in 15 events and has never ended below the second spot.
