Novak Djokovic Wins First Ever Olympics Gold Medal, Beats Carlos Alcaraz In Final At Paris

Novak Djokovic is finally a Gold Medallist in Olympics as he beats Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets.

Paris Olympics 2024: Novak Djokovic has finally won his first ever Gold Medal at Olympics after beating Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets  7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-2) in final in Paris. 

Novak Djokovic also became oldest ever Gold Medal winner in tennis at Olympics. As for Carlos Alcaraz, man who won French Open and Wimbledon this year will have to settle for a Silver Medal in his first Olympics campaign.

Novak Djokovic's imperious march to Gold 

Despite winning in straight sets match wasn't an easy one for Serbian by any sorts of imagination. It was such a close match that neir of Novak Djokovic nor Carlos Alcaraz were able to get a break in entire set. 

Both Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz weren't giving each or an inch in first set as match was on a complete knife edge. Novak Djokovic defended 6 break points in one game to inch ahe in match. and take a 5-4 le. However, Carlos Alcaraz pegged Djokovic back and game went to a tie break.

Serbian was simply unstoppable in tiebreak as he dismantled Spaniard to win 7-3 in decider and take first set of game. 

In second set, Carlos Alcaraz h come out firing all guns blazing as he pressed issue to take game to third and final set.  However, Novak hung in re and didn't give up any vantages in serve to take set to tiebreak where he just like first set decimated Alcaraz.

A Career Golden Slam 

An Olympic Gold medal was only fear that was missing from Novak Djokovic's cap and with that he's now completed a historic career Golden Slam of having won all Grand Slams and an Olympic Gold.

journey was in no way easy for 24 time Grand Slam winner as he struggled from a knee injury throughout campaign and throughout year. He was in tears post his victory as finally Golden medal that was missing finally arrived. 

Novak Djokovic is now third men's tennis player after Andre Agassi and Rafael Nal to win a Career Golden Slam and fifth tennis player after Serena Williams and Stefi Graf to win a career Golden Slam.
