Paris Olympics 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated Indian Hockey team after it secured a bronze medal at Paris Olympics, defeating Spain 2-1.  

Taking to social media platform X, PM Modi wrote, “A feat that will be cherished for generations to come! Indian Hockey team shines bright at Olympics, bringing home Bronze Medal! This is even more special because it is ir second consecutive Medal at Olympics.”

“ir success is a triumph of skill, perseverance and team spirit. y showed immense grit and resilience. Congratulations to players. Every Indian has an emotional connect with Hockey and this accomplishment will make sport even more popular among youth of our nation,” Prime Minister said.

moment has come as a joy for billion hearts which earlier suffered a disappointment after Vinesh Phogat's disqualification.

Bronze in hockey is a remarkable feat driving nation into celebrations especially relatives of team players. 

In Kerala's Ernakulam, Goalkeeper PR Sreejesh's wife, Aneeshya said, “He told me this is last match he has to win and that he would come back with a bronze medal. I agree with his decision... While watching match we were very tense. It is an emotional moment. Sometimes we cant express through words...”

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also congratulated Indian men's hockey team saying, "Congratulations to our men's Hockey team for Bronze Medal in #ParisOlympicGames2024. ir remarkable teamwork and wonderful skills have yielded great results.
