Paris Olympics 2024: After India's record-breaking performance in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, it is time for the Indian contingency to rewrite history in Paris. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) will send India's largest contingent to Paris and this also raises the hopes of winning more medals at the 33rd Summer Games. The Indian Men's Hockey Team face reigning champions Belgium in their Pool B match on August 1, 2024.
High Hopes Of Medal From Indian Hockey
The Men's Hockey team will start their much awaited Paris 2024 Olympics campaign on July 27 against New Zealand. The 'Blue Brigade' are comfortably placed on the fourth spot in the FIH rankings and are in the Pool B of the tournament. Team India is grouped with Belgium (world No. 2), Australia (world No. 5), Argentina (world No. 7), New Zealand (world No. 10) and Ireland (world No. 12). Argentina and Australia are both former Olympic champions and hence it does makes them formidable opponents.

India secured their berth for Paris 2024 by clinching a gold medal in Asian Games 2023. India's toughest bouts will be against the defending champions Belgium and 2020 silver medallists Australia. Eight times champions India finished with a bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics. This also marked India's 41-year-old drought of an Olympic medal in Hockey.
