For Vinesh Phogat's uncle Mahavir Phogat and villagers at Balali, it was worth to wait for this moment as they overjoyed and celebrated when the wrestler entered the Finals at the Paris Olympics.

"... We are completely sure that she will bring the Gold medal. She played very well and with confidence. She will play well further also. Not just the village, but the whole nation is happy today...," her uncle said.

Both wrestlers got off to a cautious start but a passivity clock on Lopez meant that Vinesh got on the board with one technical point after the Cuban didn't take a risk.
