Germany beat India 3-1 in the women’s team quarter-final in the Paris 2024 Olympics table tennis event

Antim Panghal lost to Zeynep Yetgil of Turkey by a 10-0 scoreline in the women’s 53kg freestyle round of 16 bout at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Wrestler Antim panghal will be in the Women's 53kg and till face off against Turkey's Zeynep Yetgil in the Round of 16. 

In the second attempt, India's Annu Rani registered a 53.22, with a 53.55 in the final attempt. She is currently at number 15 in the table.

Annu Rani covers a distance of 55.81m in her first attempt but it is far from the qualification standard (62.00). 

Manika Batra had a 1-0 lead  in the first game but could not hold on to the momentum, resulting in her loss in all three games. 

Jyoti Yarraji cpould not reach to the final of the women's 100m hurdles. She finished 7th in Round 1 Heat 4

Cuba's Yusneylys Guzman will be replacing Vinesh Phogat. She list to the Indian wrestler in the semifinal match of the Women's freestyle 50kg wrestling event. 

In the women's singles round, Batra masterfully defeats Annett Kaufmann of Germany in Match No. 2, winning 11–8.

Indian paddlers Sreeja Akula and Archana Kamath lost their first encounter against the German pair despite giving it their all.

India and Germany will play each other in the table tennis women's team quarterfinals. The opening match between Indians Sreeja Akula and Archana Kamath is fluctuating. India's paddlers are fighting hard against Germany in the first game.

PM Narendra Modi has reached out to IOA Chief PT Usha regarding the Vinesh Phogat situation. He wants them to file a strong protest over the challenge.

Since Vinesh Phogat was found a few grams over weright from 50kgs, she has been ousted from the competition and the chance to get the gold has washed away.

“It is with regret that the Indian contingent shares news of the disqualification of Vinesh Phogat from the Women’s Wrestling 50kg class. Despite the best efforts by the team through the night, she weighed in a few grams over 50kg this morning. No further comments will be made by the contingent at this time. The Indian team requests you respect Vinesh’s privacy. It would like to focus on the competitions on hand,” the statement by the IOA mentioned.

Vinesh Phogat has missed out on her medal before she could even compete for her gold medal match!

Right now, Suraj Panwar and Priyanka are ranked 17th in the mixed marathon race walk relay. They are not yet in the running for a medal.

The Indian duo in the Mixed Marathon slipped to the number 14 spot.

Goswami and Panwar are in action at the Mixed Marathon Walk Relay. They are currently positioned at the number 10 spot (13:07)

India's campaign will open with Mixed Marathon Walk Relay as P. Goswani & S. Panwar will feature in the Medal Event.
