Paris Olympics Hit With Scandal, Morocco Fans Invade Pitch And Scare Argentina Players With Crackers

Major controversy has struck the start of Paris Olympics as Argentina vs Morocco men's football game was suspended due to angry Moroccan fans invading pitch.

The Paris Olympics have kickstarted with a major scandal already after Argentina's opening game against Morocco in men's football was suspended due to Hooliganism in the final minute of the encounter. 

Argentina and Morocco played out a thrilling opening game of football at Paris Olympics, the game was suspended at a 2-2 draw after Argentina's 90+16th minute equaliser. However, that goal was eventually ruled out due to offside after a VAR check which took place 2 hours after the goal was scored. But it was too little too late as Moroccan fans.

Morocco fans invade pitch in Major Controversy 

The Morocco football team at Paris Olympics led by PSG star Achraf Hakimi started the game against Argentina in flying fashion and took a 2-0 lead. However, Argentina pegged back into the game in the second half and scored the 90+16' minute equaliser to make it 2-2.

The Moroccan fans were absolutely fuming at the equaliser a host of decisions went against their team including Argentine players not getting a red card. The fans invaded the pitch in anger and threw fire crackers on the ground and which scared the Argentinian players as they rushed back to the dressing room.

Moroccan fans thought their team were robbed towards the end and as seen in the video they invaded the pitch as soon as Argentina's goal was scored. They bursted fire crackers and flames at the ground which scared the Argentinian players.

Ahead of the Opening Ceremony on Friday, this raises a massive isssue over the security of Athletes at the Summer Games in Paris Olympics already. 

Argentina's goal disallowed after 2 hours 

Argentina's 90+16th minute equaliser which was the root cause of the entire chaos at the Paris Olympics was disallowed 22 hours after the game was suspended.

After fans evacuated the stadium, both sets of players and referees returned to the pitch. The goal was ruled as offside and the match officially ended in a 2-1 defeat for Argentina.

Argentina's manager Javier Masceranho was absolutely fuming as he lambasted the organisers saying it was the biggest 'circus' he had ever seen.
