PM Modi Commends India's Paris Olympics Athletes, Also Extends Warm Wishes to Para-Athletes

PM Narendra Modi congratulated the athletes who competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Additionally, the PM wished the Para Athletes well.

Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi congratulated Indian athletes for their fine effort in the 2024 Summer Olympics which took place in the French Capital. The country managed six medals, including a silver and five bronze medals through athletics, shooting, hockey and wrestling. The PM also extended his wishes to the Indian Contingent who will be traveling  to France soon for the Paralympics.

PM Modi Cheers on India’s Stars at Paris Olympics, Sends Warm Wishes to Para-Athletes

In his address from the Red Fort on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day Celebration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the athletes who were a part of the Indian Contingent at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The PM also extended his well wishes for the Para Athletes, who will be flying to the French Capital soon for the 2024 Paralympics.

"Today, we also have with us the youth who made the Indian flag fly high in the Olympics. On behalf of 140 crore countrymen, I congratulate all our athletes and players. In the next few days, a huge Indian contingent will leave for Paris to participate in the Paralympics. I extend best wishes to all our Paralympians," PM Modi said during his Independence Day speech at the Red Fort.

The Indian Contingent recently featured at the 2024 Paris Olympics, with some spectacular performances led by stars like Manu Bhaker, Neeraj Chopra, Aman Sehrawat, Swapnil Kusale, and more. Shooting was at the forefront as Manu clinched two bronze medals and made history. Kusale also secured a bronze in his name. However, the gold medal remained elusive this time and some athletes also sustained narrow misses from a podium finish. All eyes will be on the upcoming Paralympics and the Summer Games in 2028 in Los Angeles, where Team India will aim to enhance their standings and secure the coveted medal.

The Athletes who were a part of the Olympic Games were seen at the Red Fort as they were invited to be a part of the 77th Independence Day celebrations.
