Vinesh, You Are Champion Among Champions, Come Back Stronger: PM Modi

There has been an overwhelming anger at Vinesh Phogat's disqualification from the 50kg women's wrestling division at the Paris Olympics.The fact that the Indian wrestler was eliminated from the tournament just before going to the championship match makes it incredibly shocking. In such a difficult time, PM Narendra Modi has come out in support of the wrestler.

PM Modi Extends Support to Vinesh Phogat After Her Disqualification Before Medal Bout at Paris Olympics

Vinesh Phogat was unexpectedly disqualified from the Olympics on Wednesday after it was discovered that she was overweight prior to the women's 50kg final. By being the first Indian female wrestler to compete in the gold medal match on Tuesday night, Vinesh had written history. Now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tweeted out in support of Vinesh Phogat after she was disqualified ahead of the final of the Women's 50kg Wrestling match at Paris Olympics.

"Vinesh, you are a champion among champions! You are India's pride and an inspiration for each and every Indian. Today's setback hurts. I wish words could express the sense of despair that I am experiencing. At the same time, I know that you epitomise resilience. It has always been your nature to take challenges head on. Come back stronger! We are all rooting for you," PM Modi tweeted on the social media platform 'X' (Formerly Twitter).

Due to this disqualification, Vinesh will not be able to compete for either the gold or silver medals. It is not going to be possible for her to compete. Vinesh was one of India's greatest medal hopes, therefore it is a huge blow for the Indian team since he was a few grams over the allowed weight limit and lost the wrestler's chance to take home a medal.
