PR Sreejesh Gifts Narendra Modi Signed Indian Hockey Team Jersey As PM Greets Paris Athletes
The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi greeted India's Paris Olympics Contingent on the nation's 78th Independence Day.
The Paris Olympics officially concluded on August 11th, 2024 with a grand closing ceremony. Post the conclusion, India's Olympic contingent returned home from Paris after winning six medals at the Paris Games.
Days after their return home, India's Olympic Contingent was greeted by honourary Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at his residence on India's 78th Independence Day. As PM Modi hosted the Contingent he was presented with a Indian Hockey Jersey signed by the entire team.

Ahead of the independence day, the Indian contingent met with the President of India Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. It was revealed that post PM Modi takes charge of the Independence Day celebrations at Rashtrapati Bhavan, he will be hosting the Indian Contingent at his residence.
Post the ceremony, PM Modi greeted India's Paris Olympics athletes at the PM residence. In a video it can be seen that PM Narendra Modi posed with India's Hockey Team Team and PR Sreejesh presented PM Modi with a special signed jersey Indian Hockey Team Jersey by all his teammates.
PM Modi posed with all the medallists including Manu Bhaker, Sarabjot Singh, Swapnil Kusale, Aman Sehrawat, PR Sreejesh and Harmanpreet Singh.
Post the photo ops, PM Modi shared words of wisdom and encouragement to all the athletes. India's Badminton star at Paris Olympics in Lakshya Sen also spoke with PM Modi as they capped off a great meeting.

Going into the Paris Olympics, the nation had hoped they would bring home at least 10 medals from Summer Games as expectations were sky high.

However, India endured a disappointing campaign as they only won six medals and returned home without winning a Gold Medal. Their medals included 5 Bronze triumphs and 1 Silver triumph. As a result, India finished 71st on the Paris Olympics medal tally.
