‘Win It for Sreejesh’: Harmanpreet Singh’s War Cry for Indian Hockey Side at 2024 Paris Olympics
Hockey India captain Harmanpreet Singh reveals the team's aspirations for the Paris Olympics, saying they want to give PR Sreejesh the best send-off.

As Team India reaches the Olympic Village in Paris, one of the biggest contenders will be the Indian Men's hockey team, which will be spearheaded by Harmanpreet Singh. The Men's hockey side will be aiming to change the colour of the medal after they secured a bronze in the preceding 2020 Tokyo Games. But before the Olympics, India's veteran hockey player, PR Sreejesh, announced that his last dance for the national colours will be in Paris. Harmanpreet Singh presented a message to the veteran goalkeeper and also revealed the ultimate aim for the Men's hockey team in Paris Games.

Captain Harmanpreet Singh Reveals India Hockey Team’s Ultimate Goal for Paris Olympics
Hockey India Men's side captain, Harmanpreet Singh, has penned down an emotional note for the retiring goalkeeper PR Sreejesh. The India captain stated that Sreejesh has been an inspiration to the team, citing the 2016 Junior Men's World Cup, when the goaltender served as a mentor to the team and helped them win the title. Harmanpreet went on to say that the squad wants to secure it for Sreejesh and is more excited to appear on the top step again at the Olympic Games.
"Paris 2024 will indeed be a special tournament. We have decided to dedicate our campaign to the legend PR Sreejesh. He has been an inspiration for all of us and I still remember his mentorship in 2016 Junior World Cup when we lifted the title. It was the beginning of many of our careers in International hockey. We want to ‘Win it for Sreejesh’ and we are all the more encouraged to stand on the podium once again," Harmanpreet said in the social media platform Instagram.

PR Sreejesh has announced that the 2024 Paris Olympics will be his final outing for Team India. The 26-year-old has been a pivotal member of the team and has been one of India's true game-changers in the sport.

"As I prepare for my last dance in Paris, I look back with immense pride and forward with hope. This journey has been nothing short of extraordinary, and I am forever grateful for the love and support from my family, teammates, coaches, and fans," Sreejesh said in his Instagram post.
