It was a tough move, which shocked the world as Vinesh was assured of a medal after winning the semifinal round. Phogat knocked on CAS' doors for a joint silver medal but her appeal was dismissed by them, indicating that no silver medal would be presented to her. After the revelation was made public, fellow wrestlers stood up for her support, as Bajrang Punia offers his support to the grappler.

Bajrang Punia Voices His Support for Vinesh Phogat Following CAS’ Move

After the Court of Arbitration for Sport dismissed Vinesh Phogat's plea for a joint silver medal, wrestler Bajrang Punia took to 'X' and extended his support to the famed grappler, saying that she is still a pride of the country and deemed her as the country's Kohinoor.

"I believe your medal was snatched away in this darkness, You are shining like a diamond in the whole world today. The pride of world champion Hindustan, Rustam-e-Hind Vinesh Phogat you are the Kohinoor of the country. The entire world is going Vinesh Phogat Vinesh Phogat. Those who want medals can buy them for Rs. 15 each," Bajrang tweeted on 'X', Formerly Twitter, which is roughly translated by Google Translate.

Vinesh Phogat garnered immense support after she was disqualified from the Women's 50kg Freestyle Final Event in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The IOA and PT Usha, Cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly and even International wrestlers and gold medalists criticized the decision to dismiss Vinesh from the summit clash. CAS was the last hope for the Indian grappler, but they dismissed her plea, ending any chance for the grappler to receive a medal.
