PGA Tour to postpone start of China tour due to coronavirus

On Wednesday, tour officials say qualifying tournaments would be postponed until late April or early May. season was supposed to start last full week in March. w 10-tournament schedule will t start until late May or early June, depending on circumstances. season was scheduled to start March 26 with Sanya Championship, followed by three straight weeks of Haikou Classic, Chongqing Championship and Guangzhou Open.

tour is planning on a 10-tournament schedule, with top finishers on money list vancing to Korn Ferry Tour.
“We watched and scrutinized situation closely, and we did t make this decision lightly. After consultation with a variety of ncies, we determined postponement of qualifying tournaments and start of regular season are best courses of action at this time,” said Greg Carlson, executive director of PGA Tour Series-China.
“This is a major international health issue, and we will do everything possible to ensure safety and well-being of our players and everybody else associated with se two tournaments."
Carlson said players who signed up for qualifying tournaments have been tified. y will have option of going to rescheduled qualifiers or getting a refund on ir application fees.
