'Arre thank you yaar...': India's win in T20 World Cup 2024 makes even MS Dhoni use his social media

As India lifted the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy, MS Dhoni too joined in to shower praises on the India cricket team congratulating them for the historic triumph.

Barbados: As India lifted the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy, legendary India Captain, MS Dhoni too joined in to shower praises on the India cricket team congratulating them for the historic triumph. The entire country burst into celebrations as India clinched their second T20 World Cup title in a thrilling climax with a nail-biting 7-run win over South Africa on Saturday. MS Dhoni, whose presence is rare on social media, took to Instagram to congratulate the Men in Blue with a photo and thanked them for an early ‘priceless’ birthday gift. Notably, Dhoni celebrates his birthday on July 7th. 

Celebrations were in full swing as team India ended a 17-year wait for ICC T20 World Cup trophy by beating South Africa in Barbados in a thriller match. India beat South Africa by seven runs in the final.

The Men in Blue posted a good score of 176/7 in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, South Africa could only score 169/8 in their 20 overs as India won their second T20 World Cup Trophy.

As the entire country busted into celebration, former Indian captain and two time world cup winner MS Dhoni expressed pleasure and gratitude, saying, "WORLD CUP CHAMPIONS 2024.My heart rate was up,well done on being calm, having the self belief and doing what u guys did.From all the Indians back home and everywhere in the world a big thank you for bringing the World Cup Home. CONGRATULATIONS. Arreeee thanks for the priceless birthday gift."

Meanwhile, following the win, Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announced their retirement from the T20 international cricket.

The final saw Virat Kohli shine in his T20 international swan song, contributing a masterful 76 off 59 balls. Kohli, reflecting on his farewell, stated, "It's time for the next generation to take over. It was an open secret, and I would have announced it even if we had lost."

This victory not only secured India's place in cricket history but also provided a fitting farewell to head coach Rahul Dravid, capping off a memorable performance that will be celebrated for years to come.
