Raiders' Las Vegas stadium draws comparisons to Star Wars' 'Death Star' on Twitter

The Oakland Raiders will move to Las Vegas next season. Their new stadium, called the Allegiant Stadium, could also host the first game of the NFL next season.

If things go according to plan for Oakland Raiders, Oakland Coliseum will longer be ir home in 2020 NFL season. construction of Raiders' newly-christened Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas has been moving along at an express pace. In fact, re have been rumours that NFL could schedule Week 1 season opener next season at Raiders' new stadium in Las Vegas.

In August this year, Oakland Raiders anunced a partnership with Allegiant Airlines. It ultimately led to naming of Raiders' new stadium as 'Allegiant Stadium'. Before being named as 'Allegiant Stadium', NFL fans on Twitter started calling it  'Death Star'. This was before partnership was anunced. While Allegiant Stadium will serve as home for  Raiders next season, events like concerts will also be hosted re.

Despite bearing some resemblance to Star Wars' iconic Death Star, Allegiant Stadium features a sleek, impressive facade. Aside from fact that Allegiant Stadium could quite possibly host season opener of NFL next year, deal for naming rights of stadium could also be biggest in NFL. According to Forbes and Las Vegas Review Journal, Allegiant Airlines is likely to fork out between $20 million and $25 million in cash and kind services (per year) to put its name on Raiders' new stadium. Ar teworthy point is that Las Vegas Sun reported that Raiders have already brought in nearly $400 million in personal seat license fees for ir new stadium in Las Vegas. This essentially means that Raiders have sold out season tickets for 2020.
