Roger Federer congratulates Springboks after Rugby World Cup win
Roger Federer sent a special video message to Siya Kolisi saying that he couldn’t be more happy for South Africa after winning their 3rd Rugby World Cup.

World No 3 Roger Federer congratulated South Africa Rugby team after they beat England on Saturday to win the Rugby World World Cup in Yokohama, Japan. The Springboks thrashed favourites England 32-12 to lift the title. This was the second time that both the teams met in the final, with the previous one being back in 2007 in Paris.
The final was all the more historic for the Springboks, as Siya Kolisi became the first black captain to lift the Webb Ellis Cup. Tennis legend Roger Federer sent a video message praising their achievement. Kolisi after the victory said that the team had faced a lot of challenges and has been through a lot but the people of South Africa were always behind us.

The Swiss legend in his message to Springboks skipper Siya Kolisi said that he couldn’t be more happy for him and the team. It was an amazing team effort. He said that the team spent so much time together and ended up with the big win.

He also added that he was watching the game and following it. He also expressed his desire to meet the World Cup-winning team skipper.

Federer’s mother, Lynette, was born in South Africa and the 20-time grand slam champion enjoyed the nation’s success in Japan.

Earlier during an interview with a leading media daily, Federer was asked to pick his favourite team for the tournament. The 38-year-old replied South Africa, despite Australia and New Zealand being much-fancied as always.
