Simone Biles breaks Vitaly Scherbo's record of winning most medals

Simone Biles extends her medals tally by winning her 19th gold during ongoing World Championship in Stuttgart. American artistic gymnast won two gold medals last Sunday to take her overall medals tally to 25, thus beating previous World Championship record held by Vitaly Scherbo. Vitaly h won 23 medals at World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, out of which 12 were gold medals. He also won seven silver medals and four bronze in his overall tally of 23.

22-year old broke Vitaly’s record by winning on balance beam last Sunday. win was her 24th medal at premier tournament, however, Biles won ar medal later on same day. Biles currently holds 25 medals at World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, which includes a staggering 19 gold medals to her credit. She also has three silvers and three bronze medals in her world record tally.

2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Stuttgart, Germany concluded on Sunday. 9-day event ended with United States leing medal standings with five gold medals. Incidentally, all five top prizes won by US involved Biles as she won four individual medals under individual all-round, vault, balance beam and floor categories. She also won ar gold under team category to make it five for United States.

Her hunger for gold medals does t stop re as American gymnast has also won top prizes at Pacific Rim Championships and at FIG All-Around World Cups. Overall, 22-year old has won 27 gold medals while she h to contend with second and third positions four times each.
