British tennis player, Andy Murray, is all set to take a break from the tennis circuit as his wife, Kim, is going to give birth to their third child, a sibling for their other two children, Edie and Sophia. The two-time Wimbledon champion stated that he was planning on taking a break of 1 month after he competes in the European Open to be played in Antwerp, Belgium.
"Paternity" leave
While talking to an international media outlet, Murray stated that Kim was due in the coming week and added that he would obviously stay back to be with his wife and would adjust all his prior commitments. The 3-time grand slam champion now ranks 289 in the ATP world rankings after his much-anticipated return from a career 'ending' injury. In relation to this, he said that his return as an active tennis player was rather smooth as compared to a bumpy ride any player returning from injury would expect to encounter.

A 'difficult' two years for Murray
Andy added that the past two years had been really difficult from him as he suffered from bouts of extreme pain after every match he was a part of but now it was relatively easy for him but still experienced a little bit of pain in his lower back. In addition to this, he stated that it would be great if he could take part in competitive tournaments over the next few months as he had a long way to go in order to achieve whatever he lost after his hip injury.

A 'big' jump
In the events that preceded the current situation, former World Number 1, Andy Murray, witnessed a big jump in the latest ATP rankings with wins over Matteo Berrettini and fellow Britisher, Cam Norrie, in the Shanghai Open that gave him a chance to break into the top 250. Although, the British player is set to make a comeback at the big stage by competing in the 2020 season's first grand slam, i.e., Australian Open.
