Daniil Medvedev has been one of the most vocal tennis players in the tennis circuit currently. The Russian has had a full-fledged history with the crowd as he has often been embroiled in controversy. The 2021 US Open champion defeated Christopher O'Connell to move into the round three.

Daniil Medvedev had an interesting interaction with the crowd during a US Open match

It had looked to be a one-sided encounter as Medvedev took the first two sets with sheer ease but the Australian came back with great force in the third set as he saved two match points to push Medvedev to the brink. However, the second-seeded player kept his calm and finally secured a victory with a scoreline of 6-2, 6-2, 6-7, 6-2.

However, it was his interaction with a section of the crowd during the third set that hogged the limelight. The player was visibly angry as a couple of fans were going back to their seats. The player yelled at them, "Can you shut up?  

"Are you stupid or what?"

One of the female spectators responded by blowing a kiss to the player. 

Despite his struggle in the third set, Medvedev insisted he played a great match. "When you get frustrated, you never know. You could lose your concentration and the match could become much tougher, or like today, I felt like maybe it helped me a little bit. 

"In general, I felt like it was a great match to play, honestly.”

Medvedev will now face Sebastian Baez in the third round of the US Open.
