Chile's Nicolas Jarry has been provisionally suspended for an anti-doping violation after world number 78 was tested at Davis Cup. Jarry's urine sample was found to contain prohibited substances Ligandrol and Stazolol after testing by World Anti-Doping ncy. 24-year-old provided sample during his participation at Davis Cup Finals in Mrid in vember last year.

Jarry was charged with violation on January 4 and was provisionally suspended with effect from January 14. "Mr Jarry h (and retains) right to apply to Chair of Independent Tribunal convened to hear his case why Provisional Suspension should t be imposed, but has chosen t to exercise that right to date," a ITF statement said. Jarry reached a career-high singles ranking of 38 in July 2019, but has never been past second round at any of four Grand Slams. His doubles career includes quarter-final appearances at French and US Opens in 2018.
