Dominic Thiem beats Alexander Zverev to reach his first-ever Australian Open final
Austria's Dominic Thiem entered his first Australian Open final after beating Germany's Alexander Zverev. He'll now face World No. 2 Novak Djokovic.

Dominic Thiem sealed his place in his third Grand Slam championship final on Friday. fourth seed fought back after losing first set. He saved two set points in third set of a 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(3), 7-6(4) victory over German Alexander Zverev. match finished in three hours and 42 minutes on Rod Laver Arena. Thiem is first Austrian to reach an Australian Open final. He will face off against World . 2 and seven-time Australian Open champion vak Djokovic.

German rose in confidence as he clinched 10 of next 16 points. Thiem’s forehand started to break down at 4-5, but his backhand did some magic to save him two set points. Thiem carved a 3/0 le in tie-break and was able to win 82-minute set with a backhand crosscourt winner.
