'Going To Be Worse': Carlos Alcaraz Reacts After Injury Scare Ahead Of US Open

The final Grand Slam of the year US Open is about to start from Monday, August 26th and will run till September 8th. Heading into the US Open, Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz is the hot favourite to win the US Open having already won the French Open and Wimbledon this year. 

However, Carlos Alcaraz' bid for his 5th Grand Slam title seems to have taken a blow as the Spaniard had to cut short his practice session after a massive injury scare. On the eve of US Open, Carlos Alcaraz has reacted on his injury.

Carlos Alcaraz picked up an injury scare in practice match against Francisco Cerundulo when he twisted his ankle ahead of US Open. The 2022 US Open Champion decided to cut short his match and practice. 

Much to the relief of his fans and team, Alcaraz shrugged off any major injury concerns as he assured that he stopped practicing to prevent his injury from getting serious. 

“I think it is ok. I just stopped my practice just for precaution. I didn't feel comfortable enough to keep practicing, just in case if everything is going to be worse,” said Carlos Alcaraz on his injury to ESPN.

Carlos Alcaraz further assured that he is closer to getting to his 100% for the start of US Open. 

“I don't want to stop any practice. I want to practice, I want to get better, I want to get ready for the tournament. I'm sure that tomorrow, or in two days, I'm going to be at 100%, for sure," revealed Alcaraz.

Alcaraz chases hattrick 

Carlos Alcaraz is entering into US Open high on confidence having won two Grand Slams in a row in the form of French Open and Wimbledon this year. 

Alcaraz's run was halted by Novak Djokovic at the Paris Olympics when the Serbian triumphed in the Gold medal match and the Spaniard had to settle for a silver. 

But Carlos Alcaraz will want to win the final Grand slam of the year and complete a hattrick of Grand Slams in a single year for the first time in his career.
