'System is not working well': Novak Djokovic Breaks Silence On Jannik Sinner's Doping Controversy

Jannik Sinner failed two dope tests in March on Anabolic Steroids and yet got a green signal to compete Internationally from the Tennis authorities.

Novak Djokovic expressed his hope that the current doping case involving world number one Jannik Sinner would be resolved soon. Novak has also put his concerns forward on the inconsistency in the Tennis Anti-Doping system. Jannik Sinner failed two dope tests in March on Anabolic Steroids and yet was cleared to compete Internationally by the Tennis authorities. Subsequently, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) filed an appeal seeking a ban for two years on the Italian player. As the flow of assertions is at large, It is being speculated that sinners' ranking might have influenced the decision to clear him.

How Novak Djokovic Sees Jannik Sinner's Position In this Scenario?

During an address at the Shanghai Masters, Novak Djokovic paid heed to the subject of Jannik Sinner and had the following to say, “Well, I think it's quite obvious that we have a system that is not working well. So, I guess that's probably something that even the people who are not following our sport are realizing. There are way too many inconsistencies, way too many governing bodies involved, and, you know, just this whole case is not helping our sport at all. I think he has won the three appeals so far that he had, and, you know, it must be very tough for him and his team and family."

Novak Djokovic is optimistic that things will be sorted out and he will come out clean, also he is very much impressed that Jannik is spending the quality time on the field and not being deviated by the controversy surrounding him.

"Hopefully, we can go back to tennis and, I mean, it's impressive what he was been doing, in the whole process of what's been happening, that he's playing such a high level, winning Grand Slam and, you know, winning most of the matches that he plays. But that's not, you know, this situation or these circumstances are not positive for our sport, so hopefully we can resolve this case as soon as possible. Whatever's going to happen, at the end of the day, I just wish for it to be resolved as soon as possible. Yeah, that's all I have to say about that," said the Serbian
