Novak Djokovic banned from entering Australia for 3 yrs; wait goes on for 21st Grand Slam
Novak Djokovic was all set to begin his Australian Open defense on Monday however he was stopped from taking part in the tournament after his visa was cancelled

Unvaccinated vak Djokovic will t be able to enter Australia for next three years after receiving a ban following his deportation from country on Sunday. three year ban means, Serbian will have to wait until 2025 to capture his 21st Grand Slam title as he will t be able to play 2023 and 2024 edition.

Karen Andrews on vak Djokovic three-year ban
Minister for Home Affairs Karen Andrews in an interview to Channel Nine Today Show on Monday, confirmed vak Djokovic's three-year ban was outcome of court decision.
During interview she stated, "That’s outcome of process that went before Federal Court and ir determination, with visa was cancelled by Minister Hawke. That cancellation was upheld by Federal Court, so as a result of that, he will be banned from entry for three years into country. w, re are some compelling reasons that that may be able to be looked at, but that’s all hypotical at this point. Any application will be reviewed on its merits."
Australia's immigration minister Alex Hawke MP who had cancelled vak Djokovic visa due to COVID related issue, on Sunday welcomed Federal Court's verdict to upheld vak Djokovic visa cancellation. Hawke in hi statement said that he welcomed unanimous decision by Full Federal Court of Australia, which upheld his decision to exercise his power under Migration Act to cancel Mr vak Djokovic’s visa in public interest.

vak Djokovic arrives in Dubai after failing to take part in Australia Open
Following deportation from Australia ahead of Australian Open, vak Djokovic has reportedly arrived in Dubai early Monday morning. While his next destination is still unkwn it remains to see if he will be able to defend Dubai Duty Free tennis title which he won last year. tournament doesn't start until February 14 and Dubai, which is considered commercial capital of United Arab Emirates, doesn't require travellers to be vaccinated, though y must show a negative PCR test to board a flight.
