Novak Djokovic on Davis Cup: 'Being part of the national team is something I always value'

In the build-up to the Davis Cup, Djokovic said that he is looking forward to the Davis Cup and that he is happy to be representing Serbia once again.

World number two vak Djokovic dressed a press briefing ahe of Davis Cup on Monday. Serbian, who recently bowed out of ATP World Tour Finals said that he missed representing his country Serbia and that tournament is set to be an intense competition.

'Happy to represent nation'

Djokovic, who has a 12-match winning streak at Davis Cup, will be making his first appearance at tournament since 2017. Serbia won tournament in 2010 and is le by Nen Zimonjic. Serbian team consists of - Djokovic, Dusan Lajovic, Filip Krajivic, Viktor Troicki and Janko Tipsarevic. y are in Group 'A' along with France and Japan. 

On Monday, Djokovic said, "Obviously I’ve h a great experience this year in Mrid. I like playing here. I like conditions. I h an hour of practice. Everything went well. Being part of national team is something that I always valued very much. I have t played for Serbia national team for several years. So I missed feeling of being with my friends, with my colleagues and guys that create a great atmosphere. We’re going to stay hopefully until end of tournament and have success.”

Andy Murray, who will be representing Great Britain, will also feature in tournament. Ahe of tournament, Murray said, "I think a lot of us are just quite excited to see what it’s going to be like. This is something new, it’s a big change for tennis. I like how y’ve set everything up at venue and seeing all of players in one place with all of ir team colours and team tracksuits on, it’s been cool and I hope that during matches atmosphere is good and lots of people come out to support and we’ll see what happens in a few days.”
