Novak Djokovic now holds the record for the most men's singles Grand Slam tournament victories by a professional player. The Serb defeated the Russian Daniil Medvedev in the 2023 US Open final and won his 24th major. Djokovic took the title with a 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 victory in three sets.

Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev faced off in a rematch of the US Open 2021 final to reignite the old rivalry. However, this time it was Djokovic's chance to pounce on dominance over his opponent, and he returned the favour in the most stunning way possible. Two years earlier, it was Medvedev who won on that July night. With his 24th Grand Slam victory, Djokovic has passed Serena Williams to take the top spot with Margaret Court in the list of all-time Grand Slam singles champions.

A flood of feelings washed over Novak Djokovic as he returned to Belgrade after winning the 2023 US Open. The warm reception of his hometown moved the 36-year-old tennis icon even more than winning his fourth US Open. As thousands of passionate Serbians erupted in joyful cheers, Djokovic's eyes began to well up with tears. His loyal following, who had seen him through his career's ups and downs, astonished him with their true, unflinching support.

Novak Djokovic's heartfelt return to Belgrade revealed the strength of his feelings for his homeland and the link he shares with his devoted fanbase.
