Rafael Nadal breaks silence on Novak Djokovic equaling his all-time Grand Slam record

Novak Djokovic beat Greek player Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-5) in the men's singles final in Melbourne to win the first Grand Slam of the year.

Serbian tennis legend vak Djokovic wrote his name in history books as he won his 10th Australian Open title on Sunday. Djokovic beat Greek player Stefas Tsitsipas 6-3, 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-5) in men's singles final at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne to win first Grand Slam of year. With win, Djokovic equalled Spanish great Rafael Nal's record for most Grand Slam titles in men's singles category in Open Era.  

Both Nal and Djokovic w hold record for winning most Grand Slam titles with 22 trophies each. After final on Sunday, Nal turned to his official Instagram handle to congratulate Djokovic for his historic victory. Nal shared a photo of Djokovic with a congratulatory mess that re, "Amazing achievement le. Many congrats to you and your team! Well deserved. Enjoy le!"

"Congrats le, to you and your team for this great achievement. Enjoy moment!" Nal wrote in his caption on Instagram. 

Djokovic becomes World . 1

After winning championship point, Djokovic broke down in tears and was seen covering his face with a towel to hide his emotions. Meanwhile, Djokovic also registered several records as he won 10th Australian Open title on Sunday. He became third oldest player to win Australian Open title after Ken Rosewall and Roger Federer. win also helped Djokovic to become new World . 1 ranked ATP player.

35-year-old Serbian did t play in previous edition of Australian Open as he was barred from entering country because of his COVID-19 vaccination status. Nal emerged victorious last year after defeating Russia's Daniil Medvedev in men's singles final.
