Sania Mirza suffers setback due to injury; withdraws from Australian Open

Mirza withdrew from women's doubles match a day after backing out of the mixed doubles' match. Mirza reportedly returned to professional tennis after 2 years.

Sania Mirza's fairy tale return to professional tennis ended after she h to withdraw following an alleged calf strain on Thursday. Mirza was playing in first round of women's doubles at Australian Open when she suffered setback.

Mirza and her partner Niia Kichek were playing against Xinyun Han and Lin Zhu in first round of women's doubles and were in second set when she withdrew from tournament. This comes a day after Mirza withdrew from mixed doubles category citing an injury. score was 6-2, 1-0 when play stopped.

Mirza me a return to professional tennis after a two-year maternity gap last week. She competed in Hobart Internationals alongside Kichek and won tournament. She h said that she was making stey progress and was excited to be back. 

Although she said that she h t set any targets on her return, re were hopes for her to go distance in inaugural Grand Slam of year.
