Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza cruised into women's doubles final of Hobart International with her Ukrainian partner Niia Kichek here on Friday. Sania and Kichek sailed past Slovenian-Czech pair of Tamara Zidansek and Marie Bouzkova 7-6 (3) 6-2 in semifinal contest that lasted one hour and 24 minutes.

Sania's next match

fifth-seeded Indo-Ukrainian combination will lock horns with second seeds Shuai Peng and Shuai Zhang of China. Chinese pair got a walkover after Belgium's Kirsten Flipkens and Alison Van Uytvanck conceded or semifinal match because of injury. While Sania and Kichek h to fight hard in opening set, second set was a cakewalk for combination.

first set was a tough contest between two pairs, bringing tie-breaker into equation after it was level at 6-6. In tie-breaker, Sania and Kichek upped ir game by a few tches to outsmart ir opponents and take le. second set was a -contest as Saina and Kichek broke ir opponents thrice -- in second, sixth and eighth game -- to easily pocket set and a place in summit clash. Saina and Kichek got 11 break chances out of which y converted four, while ir opponents utilised two out of five break chances that came ir way.

Sania Mirza making a comeback


33-year-old Sania is returning to WTA circuit after two years. During her time away from game, she battled injury breakdowns before taking a formal break in April 2018 to give birth to her son Izhaan. She is married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik. Before ongoing event, Sania last played at China Open in October 2017. A trailblazer in Indian tennis, Sania is a former world .1 in doubles and has six Grand Slam titles to her credit. She retired from singles competition in 2013 after becoming most successful Indian woman tennis player.
