Tennis Legend Boris Becker Slams Yulia Putintseva Over Her 'Terrible behavior' at US Open

Throughout the match, Yulia cut out a frustrated figure and ultimately her aggravation vented out in the form of bizarre behaviour towards a ball girl. The 29-year-old former tennis star faced criticism for her unprofessional behaviour and unpleasant demeanor towards a ball girl. As this uncomfortable incident occurred during a challenging period for Putintseva, the online community didn't hold back in expressing their disapproval.

As the 29-year-old was heading towards a third-round loss to Italy's Jasmine Paolini, she was booed by the crowd at Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York for seemingly ignoring a ball girl. Boris Becker criticized Yulia Putintseva for displaying "terrible behavior" during her third-round loss to Jasmine Paolini at the US Open. The Kazakh player appeared visibly frustrated throughout the match, ultimately falling 6-3, 6-4 to the world No. 5.

Yulia Putinseva Apologises to Ball Girl

After her defeat to Paolini, she apologised for her behaviour via an Instagram story: “I want to apologise to her for the way I was when she was giving me the balls.

“Honestly speaking it was not about her. I was really p***ed at myself by not winning the game from the breakpoint and then got [so] empty with my emotions and deep in my thoughts that I was not focusing on what's going on and who gives me the ball. All the ball kids were doing amazing as always at the US Open.”
