Tennis News: Here's how Serena Williams can qualify for the WTA Finals
With seven spots already filled, Serena Williams will now have to fight against Kiki Bertens and Belinda Bencic to earn the last spot in the WTA Finals.

Elina Svitolina, who won year-ending event last year, will be defending her championship after becoming seventh player to qualify for event recently. or players on women's tour to qualify are Karolina Pliskova, Simona Halep, Bianca Andreescu, Naomi Osaka and Petra Kvitova.

WTA Finals: Elina Svitolina's performance this season
After a solid start to year, Svitolina hit a rough patch after losing seven of eight matches between mid-March and end of June. But Ukrainian found her mojo back in second half of season by reaching semi-finals at Wimbledon (where she fell to Halep) and US Open (where she lost to Serena Williams)
Svitolina was one of only two women to reach multiple Grand Slam semi-finals in 2019— or was Williams, who finished as finalist at both Wimbledon and US Open.

WTA Finals: Serena Williams' race to final
23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams will fight against Kiki Bertens and Belinda Bencic to earn last spot in WTA Finals. Serena last played WTA Finals in 2014 and h won title after beating Simona Halep in championship clash. Though equation comes down to Kremlin Cup in Moscow this week, Serena won't be playing event, which could make her qualification tougher and as a result, a nail-biting one.

Bertens and Bencic are in same half of draw in Moscow, so it’s only possible for one of m to make final. If one of m makes final, y’ll qualify. If y meet in semi-finals, winner will qualify. If neir of m makes final, Serena will qualify.
