Terry Bradshaw underwent elbow surgery under alias 'Tom Brady' in 1983, confirms NFL icon
Pittsburg Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw confirmed that he once checked into a hospital under the name 'Thomas Brady', back in March 1983.

After 38 years of incident, Brshaw confirmed story and even joked that he deserves some credit for Bry's success over recent years.

On Wednesday, Twitter account Quirky Research tweeted a photo of a UPI news article from March 3, 1983, with heline: "Steelers’ ‘Tom Bry’ undergoes arm surgery." Terry Brshaw hospital story involved him using an alias to check into a Louisiana hospital to have mir elbow surgery. article ted that Terry Brshaw surgery was about repairing muscle tears in his throwing elbow.
Brshaw was coming off a season during which he played in nine of Pittsburgh Steelers’ games in 1982. He h 1,768 passing yards and led league with 17 passing touchdowns. However, he didn't play in playoff game in which Steelers lost against Raiders that year as he needed surgery on his elbow. However, rar than checking into a hospital under his real name, Brshaw attempted to maintain a low profile avoid fans and used alias 'Tom Bry'.

While speaking to Athletic's Ed Bouchette later on Wednesday, Steelers icon confirmed 'Terry Brshaw alias Tom Bry' story that was doing rounds on social media on its 38th anniversary. 72-year-old said, "Tom Bry! How lucky am I? re's question he and I are linked at hip — same initials, same number. I h hair back n. I h it all going n."

At time, Tom Bry was just a five year old who dreamt of becoming like Brshaw. However, Steelers icon also joked that he deserves some of credit for Bry's success in NFL. "Everything Tom Bry has today is because of me, do you kw that? Think about it. Every record he owns he h to go through me. Get used to that, Tom Bry."

Remarkably, Tom Bry would make his NFL debut for New England Patriots 17 years later after being selected in sixth round of 2000 draft. He has since gone on to become arguably one of greatest quarterbacks of all time with seven Super Bowl wins, five Super Bowl MVP awards and three NFL MVP awards to his credit. He is also league's all-time leer in touchdown passes.
