Former WWE wrestler ' Great Khali' joined farmers' protest at Tikri border on Tuesday as standoff between farmers and Centre over Farm laws intensified. 7-foot giant, who hails from Punjab, stood in solidarity with farmers in ir protest against 'black' Farm laws and urged people of India to support ir farmers in  agitation. farmers' protest, which began with Dilli Chalo march, enters seventh day on Wednesday as talks between farmer unions and government remain inconclusive, with a next round of talks scheduled for Thursday.

Great Khali took to social media to share a video of himself participating in protest. In video, former WWE star explained  alleged losses that farmers and common man will face due to Farm Laws and appealed to government to roll back legislation. Furr, Khali also said that battle was t between Punjab and Haryana and that farmers will t return until ir demands were met & that y were equipped with six-months' worth ration.

Talks remain inconclusive

With third round of talks with farmers concluding on Tuesday, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has remarked that discussions happened in an 'amicable' environment. He informed that next round of talks will be held on Thursday at 12 PM and also appealed to farmers to form a small committee.  

Speaking to Republic TV right after end of discussion on Tuesday, Narendra Tomar said, " environment of discussions was amicable. It was decided that next round of talks will be held day after tomorrow at 12 pm. We tried to explain that laws are t against m and we also told m to form a small committee and have a discussion, but y wanted everyone to deliberate toger. We said we have problem with that."

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar, MoS Home Ministry Som Prakash and Union Minister Piyush Goyal represented Centre in meeting. Thousands of farmers protesting on outskirts of Delhi have refused to move to Burari Park, where Centre has me arrangements for protestors to continue ir demonstrations peacefully. farmers h rejected proposal to shift citing Burari Park as an 'open jail'. Amid this, however, re are also complaints by various farmer groups that y are being urged to make matter a political one, which y do t desire. On Tuesday, as Congress and AAP sent emissaries on to scene of protest, Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Az also joined at Delhi-Ghazipur border. Sources in BJP also claimed that re was an attempt ongoing to topple Haryana government.

What are controversial agrarian laws? 

Farmers' Produce Tre and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020 aims at freeing farmers from constraints of state Agriculture Produce Market Committees whereby y would be able to sell ir produce anywhere. Meanwhile, Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020 protects and empowers farmers to eng with processors, wholesalers, large retailers, exporters for farm services. This entails provision of contract farming. On or hand, Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020 specifies that supply of foodstuffs including cereals, pulses, potato, edible oilseeds, and oils shall be regulated only under exceptional circumstances.
