Corey Anderson had an incredible night at the UFC 244 after knocking out Johnny Walker in the very first round of the final preliminary fight. Anderson has often been criticised as a ‘boring fighter’, who only wins by the decision but he shut down his critics with an incredible performance at UFC 244. After his recent victory, Anderson directly wants a shot at the Lightweight title and is eager to face Jon Jones as his next opponent.

UFC: Corey Anderson wants to fight Jon Jones

According to American media reports, Corey Anderson has set an ultimatum for UFC and it states that either he gets a fight against Jon Jones or the UFC can release him. Anderson won the “Performance of the Night” award and a $50,000 bonus for his K/O victory against Johnny Walker but MMA fans still consider it too early for calling out someone like Jon Jones. However, Anderson claims that he has earned his title shot and UFC must give him the fight. He is not sad with the organisation he loves but at the same time, he doesn’t need UFC to feed his family.

“Release me. You don’t want to give me what I’ve earned, let me go. I’m hot. I’ll go somewhere where somebody’s going to respect me. I think a lot of the people feel like you need the UFC. I don’t need the UFC,” Anderson said in an interview.

UFC: Corey Anderson's run

Corey Anderson is a former champion of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ and he is riding a four-fight win streak at the moment. The Knockout against Johnny Walker was surely special though and gave him the attention he deserved. According to more American media reports, Dominick Reyes is expected to be in the line for Jon Jones’s light-heavyweight title and it will be surprising if Anderson gets a shot at the title before Reyes. However, Anderson feels that he is ready for Jones and we can expect him to be in line once Jon Jones vs Dominick Reyes gets done.
