Khabib Nurmagomedov had his last outing in the cage at UFC 242 in September, when he choked out Dustin Poirier in his second successful title defence. Khabib is now scheduled to fight the No. 1 contender Tony Ferguson who has a 12 consecutive fight streak in the company, making him the next-in-line to challenge for the title. The official announcement is yet to be made as fight negotiations are still ongoing.

Khabib Nurmagomedov addresses a potential rematch with Conor McGregor ahead of Tony Ferguson fight

Khabib Nurmagomedov has now made some interesting comments at a recently held press conference in Moscow as he addressed a potential rematch with Conor McGregor, who had been very vocal and itching for a rematch with Khabib ever since being submitted in a neck crank at UFC 229. It is apparent that Khabib Nurmagomedov does not have any interest in a fight against Conor McGregor anytime soon, and that a rematch is only possible if Conor picks up 10 victories in a row. Khabib is also done competing in Las Vegas, barring a formal apology from the Nevada State Athletic Commission for the harsh treatment of the champion post-McGregor-bout involving a staggering $500,000 in fines and nine months on the bench.

Nurmagomedov fought against McGregor at UFC 229 last year in a fight that was fairly lopsided in Khabib’s favour, before the Russian submitted the Irishman in round four to retain the lightweight title.
