Conor McGregor last competed at UFC 229 in a gruelling battle against Khabib Nurmagomedov where he suffered a devastating loss to the champion. The hiatus from the UFC did not stop the Irishman from making headlines, unfortunately for all the wrong reasons.

Conor McGregor is known for his involvement in countless illicit incidents throughout his mixed martial arts career. He was arrested in March for smashing a fan's cell phone and was under investigation for alleged sexual assault in Ireland. And for those who missed it, The Notorious One lived up to his name when he punched an old man in a Dublin pub for refusing his whiskey brand Proper 12. The former UFC champ Conor McGregor also once created a circus after jumping inside the cage at an ongoing Bellator event and attacking the referee. 

Mike Tyson offers advice to Conor Mcgregor

Heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson, who has had some experiences of his own involving run-ins with the law is well aware of the whole Conor McGregor situation. In a recent interview, Iron Mike advised Conor McGregor to look inside himself and see how he can turn things around. He discussed how fighters get into the fight-game, do what they love to do, make millions of dollars, and ultimately give it all away thinking they don’t deserve it.

Mike Tyson was convicted of rape at the height of his boxing career and was sentenced to years in prison. And despite making over $30 million for most of his fights and $300 million during his career, he ended up in bankruptcy in 2003. He also faced a series of other legal problems after his boxing career was over involving drug possession and driving under the influence.

UFC President Dana White compares Conor McGregor to Mike Tyson

Dana White compared The Irishman to boxing legend Mike Tyson while condemning his attack on the elderly man. He said when you deal with fighters who are at the peak of their careers, there is always controversy and one should be ready for a disaster.

Dana White then commented on the whole Conor McGregor situation and described it as something that is only going to cost him in the long run before he decides that it is not worth it anymore.

What is next for Conor McGregor in the UFC?

Conor McGregor is now aiming for a rematch against his biggest rival Khabib Nurmagomedov in Moscow, Russia. However, speaking of a possible rematch, Dana White recently said that Khabib is going to fight Tony Ferguson next and then the UFC will decide how things play out.
