After two back-to-back losses in the UFC, Thomas Gifford has been released by the brand. ‘The Young Lion’ made his UFC debut after a seven-fight unbeaten streak but went 0-2 to Mike Davis at the UFC Tampa recently and it has surely cost him his UFC contract. Post the humiliating knockout, Gifford might not be seen on UFC in the near future atleast.

Thomas Gifford made his UFC debut at Fight Night on 28th April 2019 against Roosevelt Roberts and tasted his first loss after a seven-fight win streak. After a hard battle of three rounds, Roosevelt was declared the winner via a unanimous decision. ‘The Young Lion’ returned to the Octagon at UFC Tampa on October 12 against Mike Davis. Davis defeated Thomas Gifford by a brutal knockout and it seems that UFC has lost their interest in Gifford. In a lengthy social media post, Thomas revealed the news on Monday and described how he was bullied in his school life and then how he gradually fell in love with fighting. After his knockout loss against Mike Davis, a lot of UFC fans criticised Gifford’s cornermen for not stopping the fight. Davis himself said that Gifford’s team would have stopped the fight, since ‘The Young Lion’ was badly hurt. However, Gifford felt that his team did what was the best and replied to his critics through a video.
