Dana White rules out Conor McGregor return to UFC in 2020 despite Irishman’s cryptic tweet

UFC chief Dana White has confirmed that Conor McGregor won't be fighting in the UFC this year despite rumours of the Irishman returning to the octagon.

UFC president Dana White has 'guaranteed' that Cor McGregor will t fight in UFC again this year. A potential Cor McGregor return to UFC was all over news after  Irishman hinted that he 'accepted' a fight from rising star Khamzat Chimaev. Cor McGregor anunced his retirement from MMA for third time in four years on June 6, 2020, and Dana White has confirmed that  32-year-old will t fight in octagon later this year.

Cor McGregor retirement: Dana White rules out a Cor McGregor return in 2020

Dana White was on  My Mom's Basement podcast earlier this week and guaranteed that Cor McGregor won't return to UFC this year. White said: "For this year, Cor's retired. He doesn't have a fight and he won't have one. I guarantee that he will t fight in 2020". Dana White's comments on a potential Cor McGregor return come only after UFC great flirted with possibility of returning to octagon to face Khamzat Chimaev. However, White did t rule out a Cor McGregor return in 2021.

UFC's rising star Khamzat Chimaev recently mitted that he flew all way from Switzerland to Ireland for sole purpose of beating up Cor McGregor back in 2018. Russian-born fighter n revealed that he was willing to fight Cor Mcgregor anywhere and anytime. McGregor sent social media fans into a frenzy when he tweeted 'I accept', hinting at a possible return to UFC. UFC legend has also been uploing ims of himself training and keeping himself in fighting shape, sparking rumours of a return. However, if Cor McGregor is to fight again in UFC, it won't take place this year.

Cor McGregor retirement: Cor McGregor UFC career

Cor McGregor, a former lightweight and heavyweight champion, h a 22-4-0 record in UFC. Following his loss against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, McGregor anunced his retirement for second time but returned to sport next year. In January 2020, Cor McGregor defeated Donald Cerrone at UFC 246. McGregor h planned to fight at least three times in 2020 but explained that coronavirus pandemic messed up his plans. Irishman took to social media to anunce his retirement for third time in June.
